Romantic Wednesdays: Can’t-Miss Contemporary Series

Waiting on You by Kristan Higgins book coverWaiting on You by Kristan Higgins

Higgins is one of my go-to authors for smart and humorous contemporary romance, and I find myself suggesting her books to a wide range of readers. Once you start one of her warm, character-rich stories, you’ll be laughing, crying, cheering and swooning – sometimes on the same page! This is the latest in her new Blue Heron series, so be sure to pick up The Perfect Match as well.

Lucky fans of Jill Shalvis get to return to idyllic Lucky Harbor, Washington in the newest installment of her popular series. To quote RT Book Reviews, Shalvis is an expert at delivering the “three ‘H’s of romance: heat, heart and humor.” I couldn’t have said it better myself. She also delivers books at a gratifying pace: expect three more Lucky Harbor novels before the end of 2014!

When We Met by Susan Mallery book coverWhen We Met by Susan Mallery

Seattleite Susan Mallery brings us back to the affable small town of Fool’s Gold, California in her upcoming book due at the end of this month, with two more titles due this summer. This installment starts off strong and maintains the momentum as two headstrong individuals navigate their feelings for each other. Though this is number 13 in the Fool’s Gold series, you shouldn’t have any trouble jumping into this latest story. For a richer experience, though, you’ve got several more books to read!

Looking for more? The Contemporary Romance reading list in the Library catalog is a great place to start.
