This summer The Seattle Public Library, in partnership with Seattle Arts & Lectures, is excited to offer a summer reading program for adults called Summer Book Bingo! In order to help you along on your quest to complete your bingo sheet, we have pulled together some book suggestions based on each category. Follow this series throughout the summer!

We recently asked our Facebook fans to tell us about memorable books from their childhoods, sparking a lively discussion. How fantastic then that this category was chosen for Book Bingo! Book Bingo: Published the Year You Were Born

1982, the year I was born, was full of cultural milestones. Among them: the Commodore 64 computer made its debut, E.T. the Extra Terrestrial premiered in theaters, and Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” album was released. Porgy and Bess at The Seattle Symphony

Looking for something fun to do this fall? The Seattle Symphony just kicked off its 2013-2014 season. If you have not been to the Symphony before, it is a great way to get out of the rain while enjoying some fantastic music. I had the pleasure of attending opening night two weeks ago and was dazzled by the program, including the guest appearance of piano superstar Lang Lang. (Interested?
