#BookBingoNW2024 Starts Today

Ready, set, READ! Welcome to the tenth annual Book Bingo, Seattle’s finest reading challenge! Brought to you by Seattle Arts & Lectures and The Seattle Public Library, with support from The Seattle Public Library Foundation and Friends of The Seattle Public Library.

Every year, local artists design our Book Bingo boards. This year we have three boards—two for adults (Book Bingo and Lotería), and one for teens (Teen Book Bingo). The adult and teen Book Bingo charts were designed by the fabulous Sabella Flagg (she/her), and the Lotería board was designed by the wonderful Eliana Vasquez.

How to Play: The Basics

Download your bingo card at www.spl.org/BookBingo or pick up a board at your local Library branch. Complete 5 boxes in a row (across, vertical, or diagonal) for a “bingo” or complete all 25 boxes for “blackout” on the teen and adult Book Bingo boards or all 16 boxes for “blackout” on the Lotería board. For more details, please go to www.spl.org/BookBingo.

What to Read?

We have put together lists of suggestions for every category, which can be found at Adult Book Bingo Reading Suggestions, Teen Book Bingo Reading Suggestions, and Lotería de Lectura Reading Suggestions (in Spanish). You can also fill out a Your Next 5 Books form with your specific requests. Don’t forget to swing by your local branch to look through the displays and Peak Picks, and connect with other readers on social media via #BookBingoNW2024.

We will also be sharing more on this year’s categories here, on Shelf Talk, so be sure to follow along! We’ve got great posts lined up on Environmental Fiction & Nonfiction, Cozy Reads, BIPOC Romance, and more.

Audiobooks, graphic novels, and young adult books all count as reading!
